About the Author: Mike Scruggs is a decorated Vietnam combat veteran and holds a BS from the University of Georgia and an MBA from Stanford University. He is a retired investment executive with a major national financial services firm. A former USAF intelligence officer, navigator, and air commando, he brings a unique combination of personal insight and analytical clarity to understanding the real lessons of the Vietnam war and their implications for American security in the future.
He has written more than 200 newspaper and magazine articles on history and current political and economic affairs and was recently awarded the prestigious D.T. Smithwick Award by the North Carolina Society of Historians for the excellence of his writing on the Un-Civil War. He was recently chairman of the board of a classical Christian school and is a North Carolina Real Estate Broker in Hendersonville, NC.
